Back in the Frame

"I keep telling myself I should start doing self portraiture again, but have continually failed to do so!" I told my friend. "Start today", she told me. And I almost did... Two days later... 


I've not done any self portraiture in years. Yet I remain my most accessible and willing model. I have also in a way failed to chronicle my shifting persona and body as I get older. Time to rectify that. This first series in that effort is my getting-back-in-the-grove moment, in which I decided I wanted to break the frame. By accident rather than design this became a series of diptychs, as I felt there were some pleasingly odd or complimentary pairings in what I had shot. So here I am, back (partially) in the frame:
